Lee's Summit North, one of the premier high school football teams in the Kansas City area, has suspended its head coach and an assistant coach for part of the upcoming 2025 season.
According to a report by KCTV Kansas City, head coach Jason Rogers and assistant coach Johlon Whittaker will be suspended for the first three games of the season. The reason is because of violations of the Missouri State High School Activities Association regulations, says Lee's Summit North High School principal Dr. Tim Collins.

Collins and the school sent a letter to staff and families noting that "contact days went over the MSHSAA-allowed 20 days and coaches were working with students during a dedicated 'summertime dead period' earlier this summer in violation of MSHSAA bylaws."
Rogers and Whittaker will miss games for Lee's Summit North against Raymore-Peculiar, Staley and Mill Valley.
The administration at Lee's Summit North self-reported the issue to the MSHSAA earlier this month. Defensive coordinator Deron Washington is expected to serve as interim head coach during the suspensions.
Last year, the Broncos went 11-1 and reached the quarterfinal round of the Class 6 state playoffs. They lost to eventual runner-up Nixa, 21-20.
The program is currently on a summertime no-contact period that started on August 2 and runs through August 10.
