For Totino-Grace standout Dothan Ijadimbola, going somewhere that really, really wanted him was key.
The Minnesota high school boys basketball prospect is considered one of the Top-5 players in the state. Earlier this week, he committed to play basketball at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
Ijadimbola, a 6-foot-6 wing, held offers from bigger programs such as Arizona State, Iowa State and Oklahoma. But the pursuit put on by new Drake head coach Eric Henderson while he was playing for DI Minnesota 17U this summer made the difference.

During his sophomore season, Ijadimbola helped Totino-Grace claim a state championship. He was regarded as the No. 1 player in the Class of 2026 at one time, according to a report by The Star Tribune.
As of now, 247Sports has Ijadimbola the No. 4 prospect in his class while Prep Hoops ranks him at No. 5. He helped D1 Minnesota 17U finish as runners-up at the Adidas Championships in South Carolina earlier this summer.
The AAU program has seven players committed to Division I programs including Nolen Anderson with the Minnesota Golden Gophers, Christian Wiggins with the Iowa State Cyclones and Jaidyn Coon with the Creighton Bluejays.
Ijadimbola is the first commit for the Class of 2026 for Drake, who was previously coached by both current Minnesota head coach Niko Medved and Iowa's Ben McCollum.
