The Indiana football team has went into Illinois and scooped up a key quarterback prospect.
Maine South High School's Jameson Purcell announced his commitment to the Hoosiers for 2027. In all, Purcell held 31 Division I offers including 21 from Power 4 Conference programs.

"Beyond excited and grateful for the opportunity to be a HOOSIER," Purcell posted on social media, "and proud to announce my commitment to Indiana University. Can't wait to get to work with (the Indiana coaching staff)."

Purcell is ranked as the 20th best prospect in his class and the No. 10 player in Illinois according ot 247Sports. He held offers from the likes of Arkansas and Auburn, but found what he liked in Curt Cignetti and Indiana.
A 6-foot-1 gunslinger, Purcell led Main South to the third round of the 8A Illinois high school playoffs as a sophomore. He threw for almost 2,600 yards and 30 touchdowns, completing 70 percent of his passes.
