Iowa City High is the No. 1 team to start the season in Iowa high school baseball for Class 4A, as the Little Hawks were placed in the top position by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association.

Johnston, Dallas Center-Grimes, Waukee and Pleasant Valley round out the Top 5 in the state’s largest classification.

Taking the No. 1 positions in the other three classes are Dubuque Wahlert (3A), Underwood (2A) and Remsen St. Mary’s (1A). That time atop the 1A poll for Remsen St. Mary’s is likely to be short-lived, as they were upset by Newell-Fonda already this season.
