The Dolphins are reportedly close to securing Warrington Wolves playmaker George Williams in the transfer market for either the 2026 or 2027 season.

All Out Rugby League have reported that Dolphins' coach Kristian Woolf has spearheaded a campaign to recruit Williams to the club.

Now, it is clear that the former Raider has set his sights on having another crack at the NRL, as he has reportedly knocked back a new deal offered to him by the Wolves.

It is unclear whether or not he'll be let out of his current deal early, or if he will see out the 2025 and 2026 seasons overseas.

Current five-eighth Kodi Nikorima also comes off-contract at the end of 2026, which would potentially leave a vacancy in the number six jersey for Williams to partner with emerging halfback Isaiya Katoa.

The Dolphins are firmly in the race for a top-eight finish, which would mark their first finals appearance since becoming the league's 17th team.

Most of their recent success can be attributed to their dynamic attack, scoring the second most points of any side in the competition heading into Round 17.

Adding a playmaker of Williams quality and experience should only accelerate the growth of their attacking brand of football, as well as the growth of their rising superstar playing halfback.
