Melbourne captain Max Gawn has stated that his team need to 'learn how to win' after their six-point loss to St Kilda on Sunday.
The Saints turned around a 46-point deficit at three-quarter time to win, the biggest comeback from three-quarter time in V/AFL history.
The six-point loss joins three other close losses for the Demons this year, which include a three-point loss to GWS in Round 1, a one-point loss to Collingwood in Round 13 and an eight-point loss to Carlton last week in Round 20.
Gawn has explained that the Demons need to learn how to win close games after the close loss to the Saints.

"We've got to learn how to win, we'll talk the talk again this week at training, and like we did going into the St Kilda game. Going into the St Kilda game, they touched us up in Alice [Springs], disappointed against Carlton in the last quarter, want to resurrect that." Gawn said in an interview on Triple M.
"So all that talk is there, and we get to the point, and we don't do it, so now's our chance to try and do it."
Gawn also defended coach Simon Goodwin, saying his job was safe at the Demons despite a dramatic dropoff since their 2021 Premiership win.
"He's my favourite coach and he's a premiership coach and I find him extremely smart tactically," Gawn said.
"I don't think the last quarter, I mean, he's in it with us, but the last quarter is not solely on him."
Goodwin faced a purported death threat after the game on social media, just weeks after Carlton coach Michael Voss received one.
Melbourne will look to rectify their loss as they play the 18th-placed West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium on Saturday.
