A death threat made on social media toward Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin is likely to be investigated by the AFL.
The offending message was posted on X just after the Demons gave up a 46-point three-quarter-time lead to lose to St Kilda by six points - in an VFL/AFL record comeback.
An account named 'KozzyOwnsYou' wrote: "I'm currently waiting outside Simon Goodwin's car. Don't fret Melbourne fans you won't need to worry any further."
The message was accompanied by a picture of a vehicle in an underground car park purporting to be Goodwin's car, but was actually a stock image from Pintrest.
MORE: HISTORY: Saints exorcise Demons for biggest comeback win
At time of publication, the X post was still live for the public to view.
No comment has yet been made from the AFL or Melbourne on the post, but it is likely the AFL, and possibly Victoria Police, will attempt to identify the culprit.
Melbourne dominated the first three quarters against the Saints to extend their lead at every break - leading by 46 points with one quarter to go.
However, St Kilda kicked 9.2 to 0.4 in the last quarter to win by a single goal, eclipsing the previous greatest three-quarter-time comeback of 45 points achieved by Brisbane vs. Hawthorn in 1995.
Saints star Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera was the hero, kicking the goal to tie the scores with nine seconds remaining after taking a spectacular mark, before goaling after the siren to win the match.
Wanganeen-Milera is out of contract at the end of the season, and has both Port Adelaide and Adelaide chasing him to return home to South Australia.
