Four softball titles were decided in the state of Michigan over the weekend.
That’s when the Michigan High School Athletic Association held its four championship contests.
In Class 1, Saline posted a 5-2 win against South Lyon; in Class 2, Richmond defeated Paw Paw, 3-0; in Class 3, Grass Lake edged Clare, 5-4; and then in Class 4, Mendon got a six-inning 11-1 run-rule win against Unionville-Sebewaing.
Here are several of the top standouts who led their respective teams to MHSAA softball titles:
Top performers from 2025 MHSAA softball championship games
Abby Curtis, Saline: Curtis was the winning pitcher in the Class 1 championship game, allowing two earned runs on six hits. She also struck out 13.
Ava Stripp, Saline: Stripp hit a solo home run for the Hornets.
Casey Griffin, Saline: Griffin went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored.
Katie Shuboy, Richmond: Shuboy was the winning pitcher for the Blue Devils as she threw a one-hit shutout in the Class 2 title game, striking out 10. At the plate, she was 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles.
Kendall Nader, Richmond: Nader was 2-for-3 with a triple and a run scored.
Audrina Nader, Richmond: Nader drew a walk, had a base hit, drove in a run and scored another.
Emily Brown, Grass Lake: Brown was 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a pair of runs scored in the Warriors’ Class 3 title win.
Bree Salts, Grass Lake: Salts went 2-for-3 and drove in a pair of runs.
Morgan Conrad, Grass Lake: Conrad was the winning pitcher and struck out eight.
Cienna Nightingale, Mendon: Nightingale was 2-for-3 with a double, triple, four RBIs and a run scored in the Hornets’ Class 4 championship win.
Ally Butler, Mendon: Butler was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and three runs scored.
Rowan Allen, Mendon: Allen was the winning pitcher, giving up one run on three hits over six innings, striking out five. She also had a base hit and scored two runs on offense.
