The Dutchtown [GA] Bulldogs visited the Stockbridge [GA] Tigers Saturday evening and things didn't go well for the Bulldogs in a 59-14 loss.

STOCKBRIDGE, Georgia, Aug. 16 — In a complete reversal of fortunes from the 2024 season opener, the Stockbridge [GA] Tigers thrashed the Dutchtown [GA] Bulldogs, 59-14, Saturday evening in GHSA non-conference action.

A year ago, it was Stockbridge that struggled to contain Dutchtown in a 47-28 loss to the Bulldogs. The Tigers never quite found their footing in 2024, stumbling to a 5-5 finish just one year after finishing 12-3 as the GHSA Class 4A runners-up.

This edition of the Tigers was unstoppable and feels like a threat to make another deep run just one game into the 2025 season. They beat the Class 5A Bulldogs in every aspect of the game, and it wasn't even close. Stockbridge scored touchdowns in a variety of ways, including at least one via interception, blocked punt, and kick return.

Stockbridge missed out on the GHSA Class 4A postseason a year ago, finishing fourth in their region. Dutchtown, however, made it to the second round of the GHSA Class 5A playoffs before running into the Milton Eagles' machine – the eventual undefeated state champions. The Bulldogs lost to the Eagles in a 41-3 rout, but Stockbridge's domination of a Class 5A team that beat them handily a year ago will turn some heads in the Peach State.

Next up for Stockbridge are the Hampton Hornets who shut out the Luella Lions, 21-0, Friday night. Hampton was 8-3 a year ago, losing in the first round of the GHSA Class 4A playoffs to the Eastside [Covington] Eagles, 42-0.

The Bulldogs will return to Dutchtown, licking their wounds, while preparing for the South Gwinnett [Snellville] Comets, a 14-6 winner over the Shiloh [Snellville] Generals Friday night. The Comets were 7-4 a year ago.

Refresh for updates.
