Ben McCollum knows quite a bit about the game of Colin Rice, a senior-to-be at Waukee Northwest High School in Waukee, Iowa.
That is because McCollum's sons played with Rice last season, helping the Wolves reach the Class 4A state championship game.
Earlier this week, Rice made a visit to Iowa City, and McCollum and the Iowa Hawkeye basketball program put on a full-court press to convince the three-star forward they are his future.
Last year, Rice posted 12.5 points and over seven rebounds per game, as the 6-foot-7 standout shot almost 40 percent from the 3-point range.
But Iowa isn't the only Big Ten Conference program interested in Rice. Nebraska is set to entertain him later this month, as they have offered along with the Hawkeyes, Murray State, Drake, North Dakota State, Northwestern, Saint Louis and Northern Iowa.
Rice could see his recruiting really take off going into his final prep season, as he was invited to the NBPA Top 100 Camp, which takes place in Rock Hill, South Carolina June 9-13. He also plays for Martin Brothers Basketball, one of the top teams in the Midwest.
