Crespi Carmelite boys basketball looks a little different than last season with the graduation of Peyton White (Nevada) and Jayden Xu, but a few things are still the same.
Former Los Angeles Laker Derek Fisher is still at the helm, twins Carter and Isaiah Barnes are still rising stars in the Class of 2027 helping run the show, and the team is still a lock to contend amongst California high school basketball's upper ranks.
As for what's new, transfers Jasiah Williams (Hesperia) and Rodney Mukendi (St. Monica) have now made their debuts as Celts, and everything came together last weekend as Crespi went 4-0 for a Section 7 title in the Crest Insurance Group bracket.

The title game was a close one, with Crespi edging out Las Vegas Centennial (NV) 86-80. Up until that point, the Celts had been getting it done with room to spare. They opened with a 70-58 win over Layton (UT), knocked off reigning Arizona Open Division champion Perry 70-55, and thrashed Colorado heavyweight Rangeview 60-37 in the semifinals.
The rest of the bracket consisted of more solid competition – Brentwood (CA), Francis Parker (CA), Pleasant Grove (UT), San Joaquin Memorial (CA), Central Catholic (OR), San Tan Charter (AZ), Boulder Creek (AZ), Los Alamitos (CA), Lincoln (WA), and St. Ignatius (CA).
