Two classifications wrapped up at the Iowa high school state softball tournament from Rogers Park in Fort Dodge on Thursday, as the two biggest took to the diamond.

In Class 5A, Waukee Northwest won its second title with a thrilling 1-0 victory in eight innings over Linn-Mar. The 4A title game saw Pella finish off an improbable run as the No. 8 seed, besting North Polk, 4-2.
Here are some of the key individual performances from Thursday's games at the Iowa high school state softball tournament:
Class 5A
- Sophia Schlader, Waukee Northwest: The freshman phenom struck out 15 and allowed just five hits.
- Alayna Schulte, Waukee Northwest: Schulte recorded two hits to help the offense.
- Emily Koranda, Linn-Mar: The senior struck out six, allowed only six hits and had two doubles.
- Kori Lincicum, Ankeny Centennial: In the third-place game, Lincicum was 4-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored.
- Kennedy Buskhol, Cedar Falls: Buskhol recorded two hits and drove in a pair.
Class 4A
- Abby Melvin, Pella: A triple, a double and two RBI helped the Dutch to the title by Melvin.
- Emma Eekhoff, Pella: Eekhoff got the outs when she needed them, helping her own cause with a hit.
- Ava Husak, North Polk: The senior struck ut nine and had two hits at the plate.
- Aubrey Noring, ADM: Noring had two hits and drove in a run as the Tigers finished third.
- Adalynn Johnson, North Scott: Johnson had a hit and an RBI in the third-place contest.
