Before Aaron Rodgers signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, safety DeShon Elliott made a post that no doubt turned heads.

On Instagram, Elliott commented on a post pertaining to Rodgers and the Steelers, saying that the team should "leave his ass at the retirement home."

Rodgers finally signing in Pittsburgh might have made things awkward between he and Elliott, but the veteran safety noted he has since apologized and revealed the overwhelming respect he has for the future Hall of Famer.

“I’m a (social media) troll,” Elliott admitted. “He’s an All-Pro, and he’s a GOAT. He’s going to be a gold jacket guy one day. Honestly, when he got here, we communicated, we talked. He’s a great person and a great ballplayer. Whatever the media put out there is BS. I respect him a lot.

"I told him that I respect him, and I apologized to him for the things I was saying about him because, honestly, he’s a great man. He has a great heart, so I appreciate him, and he’s funny as hell,” he added.

Elliott wasn't the only person with Steelers connections to rip into Rodgers. Steelers legend Terry Bradshaw did the same, while also criticizing the team as a whole for waiting around for Rodgers' decision.

Bradshaw hasn't walked his comments back, but Rodgers did respond on Saturday in the best way he possibly could so as not to upset Steelers fans.

"I've known Terry for a long time, being a part of FOX," Rodgers said. "Terry's a legend. He's an absolute legend. He won four Super Bowls. He's had a legendary career in the media."

"But Terry, like a lot of people, doesn't know me," Rodgers added. "So he's got an idea of what he thinks about me based on what I've done, the documentary, what I've said, darkness retreat, whatever the hell you want to talk about."

Rodgers noted he would like to get to know Bradshaw and thinks the Hall of Famer would change his tune on him if they had a chance to talk.

It'll be interesting to see if Bradshaw takes the same approach Elliott did, but we wouldn't hold our breath for that.
