The Los Angeles Chargers (11-6) and Houston Texans (10-7) will open the NFL playoffs in the first Wild Card game next Saturday.

During the telecast of the Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings game on Sunday Night Football, the league announced its full schedule for the Wild Card round of the playoffs. The Chargers and Texans will play in the first game of the weekend, kicking off at 1:30 PM PT.

The Chargers last played in Houston in October 2022, beating the Texans 34-24. The Chargers have fared quite well historically against the Texans, winning four of the five games played against them in Houston. The Texans are just 5-3 at home this season.

The Chargers have qualified for the playoffs in the first year of Jim Harbaugh's tenure as head coach, turning the franchise around after a 5-12 season in 2023. They made the playoffs the year before, giving up a 27-0 lead against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Wild Card round and losing that game 31-30.

The game will be televised on CBS and Paramount +.
