Chargers clinch AFC's top Wild Card, playoff matchup now official image

The Los Angeles Chargers had little trouble in putting away the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday for their 11th win of the season. That has allowed them to clinch the No. 5 seed in the AFC playoffs and they are locked in to face the Houston Texans in the playoffs next weekend.

Justin Herbert passed for 346 yards and two touchdowns and Quentin Johnston had what may have been his best game as a pro, catching 13 passes for 146 yards. It capped a tremendous season for the Chargers in which they reached double-digit wins in their first year under Jim Harbaugh.

In the process, the Chargers avoided a matchup with the Baltimore Ravens in the Wild Card round and will get a decidedly more favorable game, albeit on the road, against the Houston Texans.

The Texans won the AFC South but haven't snuck up on teams the way they did last year and C.J. Stroud has had a bit of a sophomore slump. If you were to ask Harbaugh and the Chargers, perhaps away from a camera, they would likely say this is the best matchup they could have asked for.
