Green Bay is in a jam-packed NFC North, alongside the Detroit Lions, who are in a position to make a Super Bowl run for several years after enduring some of the toughest times. The Packers, however, have a promising franchise quarterback in Jordan Love, so they’re in a great position for the future.

Like every other team in the league, the Packers have several issues to address. These include working out a contract with CB Jaire Alexander, figuring out what to do with their wide receiver room, and tackling other various concerns. On Monday, the Packers reaffirmed that Jayden Reed will remain their top target for the upcoming season.

“The team said it will not affect Reed’s status as its top receiver,” Adam Schefter reported.

One area the Packers have benefited from this upcoming season is their travel schedule. Green Bay will travel nearly 10,000 fewer miles than last year, ranking them 26th in the NFL for travel distance — making them one of the least-traveled teams.

The Packers' week-one matchup was leaked early on Wednesday morning. Green Bay will open the season against their rival, the Detroit Lions. Packers fans are sure to give the Lions a warm Lambeau Field welcome.

However, there is now another offseason issue in the organization. Elgton Jenkins, a two-time Pro Bowler, has skipped workouts due to wanting a new contract. Jenkins is also set to play center this coming season, after previously playing left guard.

“Elgton Jenkins doesn’t necessarily have a problem with moving to center full-time, but sources say the two-time Pro Bowl left guard would like the Green Bay Packers to make it more financially stable for him to do so. That’s the reason he has so far stayed away from the offseason workouts, multiple sources told ESPN,” Rob Demovsky wrote.

Jenkins is seeking guaranteed money on his contract, especially given the increased demands of his new position. Until something is resolved, Jenkins will continue to skip workouts.
