If every player in each of the eight NFL divisions were available, what would a potential All-Star team look like?
That's the exercise that Matt Holder of Bleacher Report recently took out, naming an offensive and defensive team for each division in the league. The Denver Broncos have not won the division since 2015, but things could be changing at the top.
With a healthy amount of selections to this fantasy-style All-Star team, including a player who has yet to take a snap for the Broncos, it shows that the team is rightfully being recognized as one that could finally topple the Kansas City Chiefs this season.
These eight Broncos were selected to the team:
Courtland Sutton, WR
Ben Powers, G
Quinn Meinerz, G
Jonathon Cooper, EDGE
Zach Allen, DT
Dre Greenlaw, LB
Pat Surtain II, CB
Brandon Jones, S
Courtland Sutton joins Ladd McConkey of the Chargers and Jakobi Meyers of the Raiders as the wide receivers on this team, but then you get to the offensive line — a strength for the Broncos — and they get both of the guard spots with Ben Powers and Quinn Meinerz.
Defensively, Zach Allen — who was recently revealed at No. 90 on the list of top 100 players for the 2025 season — is beginning to get the respect he deserves, joining Chris Jones of the Chiefs as the two defensive tackles on the team.
Jonathon Cooper was taken over Nik Bonitto as one of the edge rushers on the team, a choice that will likely be seen as controversial, but Holder explains it this way:
"The AFC West has a handful of good edge-rushers, as Khalil Mack and Nik Bonitto also have cases to be listed above. However, Crosby is one of the best players at the position when healthy, and Cooper has posted 19 sacks over the last two years. Also, the latter is the more complete player to earn the nod over his teammate".
That's debatable, but the Broncos get a player there and two more in the secondary, another area of strength for the team. Pat Surtain II, the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year, was an obvious choice and it's nice to see Brandon Jones recognized after a solid 2024 season.
The most interesting name on the list may be that of Dre Greenlaw, a free-agent signing this offseason. He and Nick Bolton were the selections at the linebacker position. Broncos fans know that Greenlaw has the talent, but how he comes back from a torn Achilles (he played in just two games last year) will help determine how good this Broncos defense can really be.
