The Cleveland Browns quarterback battle will continue to be highly discussed around the NFL. The quartet of Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders have battled for the job throughout the spring, and will continue to do so when they report for training camp next month.
Pickett is arguably the most interesting name, as he is a former first-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers that didn't pan out. The Steelers traded him to the Philadelphia Eagles last offseason, and then traded by the Eagles to the Browns in March. And while many are writing off Pickett for his poor showing over two years as the Steelers' starter, he is in position to be the Browns' starter in 2025. One NFL insider says don't write Pickett off, as he could be the 2025 version of Sam Darnold.
"Everybody keeps underselling Kenny Pickett because of what happened in Pittsburgh," Aditi Kinkhabwala said on 92.3 The Fan. "Look at the model of Sam Darnold."
Darnold had 35 touchdown passes in 2024, a career high after bouncing around the league as a journeyman. If Pickett does anything near that, Cleveland will look like geniuses, and make the Steelers look like fools in the process.
