The Cleveland Browns have a large hole at the wide receiver position. Outside of Jerry Jeudy, there is a lack of proven playmakers on the boundary for whomever the starting quarterback will be to distribute to. The Browns signed former Steelers wideout Diontae Johnson on a one-year prove it deal, and he is the best bet on who will be WR2 on the depth chart. However, a dark horse name could emerge as a player who gets a lot of targets.
Second-year man out of Louisville Jamari Thrash is impressing, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski.
“He’s had a really strong spring," Stefanski said. "He’s here all the time working on his body. Very intelligent player, can line up in multiple positions which I think is valuable…you know, the quarterbacks like how he gets open. He finds a way to get open vs. zone, vs man.”
Thrash caught 63 passes for six touchdowns in 2023 at Louisville. Prior to that, he totaled 1,100 yards at Georgia State in 2022.
