Within the last few days, the college football community has run rampant over the announced kickoff time for the Ohio State-Texas game to start Week 1.

The game is slated for noon ET, which headlines "Big Noon Kickoff" Saturday, Aug. 30. Except a wrench could be thrown into those plans.

An Ohio representative is advocating for games involving the Buckeyes not to start at noon ET, except their Week 14 clash against Michigan.

"Rep. Tex Fischer is out with a bill designed to curtail the Big Ten from scheduling Ohio State football games at noon," The Rooster, an Ohio-based news source, tweeted Thursday. "The bill includes an exception that allows the Michigan game to kick off in its traditional noon slot. Buckeyes have been in heavy noon rotation thanks to Fox."

This is more complicated than it looks, however.

The bill has numerous issues, specifically targeting lesser-known schools regarding when they would play the Buckeyes in-state.

A $10 million fine could be imposed if a school insists on playing at noon and the Buckeyes oblige, making it a possible lose-lose situation.

There's, of course, the chance the bill won't become a law, which could make the entire ordeal a non-issue. However, it appears Buckeye fans are happy with the possibility.

"Thank you Ohio State. Joel Klatt is the only person who likes Big Noon. Ohio State is standing up for justice, I cannot emphasize this enough - Fox [Sports] you have tried your damndest to ruin big time Big Ten football," Jake Myers tweeted.

"As a lifelong Buckeyes fan, I disagree. I think the NCAA should punish us by having all of our home games at noon for the next 20 seasons, move our home games to London, and make it a felony to have any football games after 4:00 pm in the State of Ohio," another fan tweeted.

"Texas/Ohio State at noon is dumb. Penn State/Ohio State at noon is dumb. Do with the rest of them as you wish," Anand Nanduri tweeted.

The game itself has all the makings of a classic. Both teams met in the Cotton Bowl this past season, with the Buckeyes prevailing en route to a national title win.

With 100 days until college football gets underway, the anticipation is already beginning to heat up.
