Shedeur Sanders has caught countless strays from the national media since before the NFL Draft. The former Colorado superstar took a shocking slide to the fifth round when the Cleveland Browns finally drafted him with the No. 144 pick.

Negative reports on Sanders’ pre-draft meetings and the $1 million he spent on his post-draft celebration party have led to a nationwide indictment of his professionalism. In a recently resurfaced video, Tom Brady implored Sanders to spend more time in the film room and less time worrying about his Rolls-Royce.

Despite the negative noise surrounding Sanders, his former offensive coordinator at Colorado, Michael Pollock, posted a May 5 tweet about the young quarterback’s level of professionalism in college. Pollock debunked the popular narrative of poor professionalism and preparedness that has stained Sanders’ name over the last few months.

“I was the first Offensive Coordinator that Shedeur Sanders had in college, and I have been with him throughout his college career,” Pollock tweeted. “He has had multiple OC’s in college and has NEVER had a problem learning a new system, being prepared, and executing at a high level. STOP THE LIES!”

Pollock served as an assistant for Shedeur’s father, Deion, at Jackson State and Colorado. From his days as a freshman, Coach Prime and Pollock helped develop Shedeur into an eventual Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year.

With national media members like Michael Irvin already coming to Shedeur’s defense, Pollock’s comments will further fuel the growing belief that Shedeur’s historic draft slide was unjust. Once projected as a top-five pick, Shedeur has all of the talent needed to start for Cleveland as a rookie.
