The Michigan Wolverines weren't quite done with building their roster, particularly at the quarterback position. They added another Monday.

According to On3's Pete Nakos, Jake Garcia is back in major Power Four college football after spending this past season at East Carolina. The Pirates finished 8-5, an identical record as Garcia's new team, which enters its second season under Sherrone Moore, who succeeded current Los Angeles Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh.

Garcia's stat line this past year was rather underwhelming. He completed 60.2 percent of his passes and accounted for eight touchdowns. Garcia threw for 1,426 yards. His best statistical game came against Norfolk State last August, a 42-3 win. Garcia went 23-of-36 for 308 yards and four touchdown passes. Three of his 12 interceptions for the season came against the Spartans.

Garcia's signing could mean everything for the Wolverines or nothing at all. Either way, they have more depth than before, alongside five-star true freshman Bryce Underwood, Fresno State transfer Mikey Keene and Jadyn Davis.

Seventy-five days remain until the Wolverines open their season against New Mexico. By then, the starter will be known. At the very least, though, it gives Garcia time to learn the Wolverines' system if he does beat out Keene, Underwood and Davis as the starter.

The saga continues in Ann Arbor as the Wolverines chase a Big Ten title appearance with a possible College Football Playoff berth around the corner by season's end.

There is more fallout in the wings, but for now, the quarterback room just got slightly bigger.
