Shedeur Sanders may need to wait more than he initially imagined to handle the starting QB reins in Cleveland.

Browns Beat reporter Mary Kay Cabot cites the reason behind it as Sanders' dangerously low ranking in the Browns' imaginary pecking order.

A direct effect of this will be seen during the OTAs in the form of limited reps for Sanders.

"I think right now they have a pecking order, and at the moment, he really is number four on the imaginary depth chart. The number four quarterback doesn't necessarily get those choice reps, but I think they're going to divide it up by day, so there might be days when somebody else won't get some of those 11-on-11 reps," Cabot said during the Ultimate Cleveland Sports Show.

The only way forward for Sanders to get the starting job would be to work harder and wait.

"Again, we were only out there for one of the three days this week. So we're not really sure what happened on the other two days, but I think on that particular day, it showed that as of right now I think that Shedeur is number four on that depth chart and that he's going to have to work his way up and leapfrog the others if he wants that starting job," Cabot said.

Initially, rookie Dillon Gabriel was a budding favorite to start for the franchise, but lately, Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett are gaining traction as the next favorite starters for the Browns. At least in Week 1.

That said, whoever from Flacco or Pickett gets selected will seriously have to improve their game from the previous season.

If they can't, Stefanski won't hesitate to replace them with whichever rookie looks the best then.

If Sanders wants to overtake Gabriel at that time, he'll need some relentless efforts.
