Former LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne turned to Instagram on Thursday, May 29 to wish her boyfriend, professional baseball player Paul Skenes, a happy birthday. She also shared a rare, behind the scenes glimpse into their relationship in a series of cute couple pictures, linking the song “Joy Of My Life” by Chris Stapleton.
“Happy birthday little baby @paulskenes 🤍🎂,” she captioned the post.
Dunne shared a sweet snapshot of herself and Skenes enjoying a meal together, along with another image of them embracing after a baseball game. Skenes, who is 23 years old, is a pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates and first made his MLB debut in 2024.
Dunne and Skenes first met when they were both attending LSU, and they’ve been together since 2023. Dunne can sometimes be spotted cheering him on during Pirates games.
In March of 2025, Dunne had a disappointing end to a 5 year career as a gymnast at LSU after suffering an avulsion fracture to her kneecap. The injury forced her to sit out during her final meet with the LSU Tigers.
Because he was on the road for work, Skenes wasn’t able to be there to support her. However, he still found a way to let her know he was thinking about her.
"He DoorDashed me Starbucks and flowers and Raising Cane's," she shared in a recent interview with People.
