Revsportz reported on Sunday that India's Test captain Shubman Gill will serve as deputy to Suryakumar Yadav in the Asia Cup, as the star batter is all set to be appointed as the vice-captain of the Indian team in the shortest format.

Hardik Panya to undergo fitness assessment
Experienced all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who leads five-time champions Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, is set to undergo a fitness assessment at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru on August 11 and 12, according to a report from The Times of India.
Back in July, Punjab Kings skipper, Shreyas Iyer underwent his medical assessment, as the India star is all set to be called back in the squad for the Cup.
