The Cleveland Browns are heading into their final preseason game where they will host the Los Angeles Rams. And while fans are itching to find out who the Week 1 starting quarterback will be, there are other positions that will feature notable moves and potential surprise cuts.
One of those positions is wide receiver. The Browns took a flier on former Pittsburgh Steelers Pro Bowl wideout Diontae Johnson, signing him to a one-year deal. Johnson bounced around the league in 2024, playing for the Carolina Panthers, Baltimore Ravens, an Houston Texans. Now, he looks to get things back on track with the Browns. However, that journey may be short-lived.
The Browns signed undrafted free agent receiver Isaiah Bond out of Texas to a three-year deal. And as Cory Kinnan of Daft on Draft points out, someone has to be cut in terms of the final 53-man roster for Bond to have that spot. Kinnan poses the question if Johnson will get released while Bond takes his spot.
"So Diontae Johnson getting cut to make room for Bond?" Kinnan posted on X.
If this is the Browns' plan, there becomes a real question on if Diontae Johnson gets another shot.
