The Cleveland Browns were trailing the Philadelphia Eagles 13-12 in their second of three preseason games. However, one depth defender made a huge play to put them on top, and may have locked up a roster spot in the process.
Defensive end K.J. Henry picked off a pass from former Browns quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson that was popped in the air after Julian Okwara laid a hit on the quarterback. Henry caught the ball and took it to the end zone for a touchdown.
Henry is entering his third NFL season. He was drafted in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Washington Commanders out of Clemson. He appeared in 10 games as a rookie, but was released ahead of the 2024 season. In 2024, he appeared in two games for the Cincinnati Bengals and two more for the Dallas Cowboys.
