Lachlan Galvin is reportedly set to depart the Wests Tigers this week to join the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.
Galvin's move to Belmore is expected to take effect immediately, which has major implications on the competition.
The Bulldogs are currently coming first, with nine wins and two losses to their name.
With their current stretch of form, many experts have speculated that changing the formula mid-way through the season could be a mistake on the part of powerbrokers at the club.

Where will Lachlan Galvin play for the Bulldogs?
When healthy and available, the spine that Cameron Ciraldo has elected to go with includes Connor Tracy at fullback, Matt Burton and Toby Sexton in the halves, and Reed Mahoney at hooker.
Galvin, who has played five-eighth for the majority of his career, would not be an obvious replacement for any of those players.
Burton, who was a marquee signing for the club back in 2022, is unlikely to be ousted from the number six jersey upon the 19-year-old's arrival.
Whilst facing enormous pressure over his own contract negotiations, it would seem unlikely for Sexton to be moved, given that Galvin's strengths don't necessarily align with being a game-managing halfback.
If a re-shuffle isn't on the cards for the Bulldogs spine, Galvin might be forced into playing at lock, or even coming off the bench to start his campaign in blue and white.
However, the nature of the signing and how hard the Bulldogs pursued him may force Ciraldo's hand into shaking up the current combination he's developed between the one, six, seven and nine.

If Galvin plays five-eighth, Burton has proved that he can be versatile during the earlier stages of his career.
In 2021, Burton won a grand final playing in the centres for Penrith and was named Dally M Centre of the Year.
If the 25-year-old is willing to make the switch back to his old position, all of a sudden the pieces begin to fall in place for Galvin's injection into Belmore.
