Melbourne Storm have been forced into a late reshuffle, with second-rower Shawn Blore ruled out through an ankle issue ahead of Friday’s Round 25 showdown with the Bulldogs at AAMI Park.
Blore’s absence sees Joe Chan promoted to the starting side, adding responsibility to a relatively inexperienced forward pack.
The setback comes just as the Storm look to build momentum after last week’s hard-fought win over Penrith.

Papenhuyzen waits in the wings
There was a positive note for Melbourne fans, however, with Ryan Papenhuyzen named on the extended bench. The livewire fullback continues his bid for full fitness and could yet feature, joining heavyweights Nelson Asofa-Solomona and Bronson Garlick among the reserves.
Elsewhere, Cameron Munster has once again been handed the fullback role, with Jonah Pezet and Tyran Wishart trusted to guide the team in the halves. At centre, Marion Seve will mark his 50th Storm appearance, while Harry Grant continues to skipper the side from hooker.

Friday night’s contest shapes as a stern test against a Bulldogs outfit boasting the strike power of Stephen Crichton and Viliame Kikau. With the Storm’s forward rotation lightened by Blore’s injury, the onus will fall on Trent Loiero, Eliesa Katoa and Stefano Utoikamanu to set the platform.
Kick-off at AAMI Park is scheduled for 3:30 pm AEST.
