Wests Tigers playmaker Lachlan Galvin is at the centre of a high-stakes recruitment battle playing out between the Parramatta Eels and Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.

Both clubs have reportedly made aggressive offers to lure the 19-year-old away from Concord after the Tigers set a $165,000 transfer fee to release him early from his contract.

On Saturday, The Sydney Morning Herald's Michael Chammas appeared on Triple M Rocks Footy and revealed details of the negotiation.

"As it stands right now, the Dogs and Eels have met with him on Wednesday night," he said.

"They both have put forward offers of around 750, averages out around $750,000 a year.

"There is strong suggestions that maybe Parramatta overnight have upped their offer a bit."

The Eels have been heavily linked to the young five-eighth ever since he was given permission to negotiate with rival clubs.

Their current number six Dylan Brown, inked a deal with the Newcastle Knights to become the highest paid player in the NRL earlier this year, leaving a vacancy that will need to be filled for 2026.

"If they have a clear pathway for him, which at the moment they do, it’s ‘come over here and be our number six alongside Mitchell Moses’ because Dylan’s [Brown] going to be leaving," said Chammas.

As for the Bulldogs, Galvin's fit with the club isn't as clear. Traditionally, he's played as a secondary ball player, which is a role Matt Burton - who's signed on through 2027 - has locked down in Belmore.

"For the Bulldogs, they want Lachie Galvin to come for the right reasons," said Chammas.

Both clubs will have until the June 30 transfer deadline to sign Galvin if they want him to play for them in 2025.
