Port Adelaide's $30 million Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera offer report vanishes image

St Kilda's Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera turned down the biggest deal in AFL history - and left $500,000-a-season on the table - to stay at the Saints and still be the highest paid player in the AFL.

Or so we thought.

Once it was confirmed by AFL.com.au's Callum Twomey that Wanganeen-Milera was re-signing at St Kilda for two years at $2 million-a-season, other journalists decided to have their say and tweet their information about the story.

Channel Nine's Tom Morris used his X account to post an astonishing claim that Port Adelaide offered Wanganeen-Milera $2.5 million per annum over 12 years - equating to a $30 million payday for the South Australian superstar.

A deal of this magnitude would be approximately $500,000-a-season more and 10 years longer than the reported offer Wanganeen-Milera signed with the Saints.

"What a day for @stkildafc," Morris posted on X.

"The playing group just erupted at Moorabbin having been told Nas is staying. It’s $2 million x 2 guaranteed money.

"Adelaide’s offer was $1.5-1.7 x 4 (they were prepared to offer longer if needed).

"Port’s was 12 years at up to $2.5 million per season… As much as $30 million in total."

However, that post was deleted approximately an hour later - with no explanation from Morris via his X account.

Whether the story is untrue or Port Adelaide simply asked Morris to retract details of their offer - we'll probably never know.

In an post that is still up on X, 7News reporter Mitch Cleary stated Port Adelaide's offer was approximately $1.6-$1.7 million over 10 years - nearly $1 million-a-season short of Morris' report.

The Wanganeen-Milera saga has seen some interesting reporting throughout 2025 - with it clear by the resolution that no one really knew anything of the final decision.

It was even suggested that on Sunday, the day before Wanganeen-Milera re-signed with St Kilda, that the player was 'leaning' toward Adelaide as his club of choice - by Adelaide-based journalist Will Faulkner.

However, after Wanganeen-Milera re-signed it was reported by 7News that he told team-mates Callum Wilkie and Jack Steele that he was re-signing with the Saints on Saturday.

Who do you believe? Probably no one by the looks of it.
