Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera to stay at St Kilda, sign biggest AFL contract of all-time image

St Kilda has secured a huge coup with the re-signing of superstar Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera on a two-year contract.

The 22-year-old will be the first player to earn at least $2 million-a-season over the next two years, reports AFL.com.au's Callum Twomey.

A contract of this size would mean Wanganeen-Milera is the AFL's first $2 million man and is now the best paid player in the game.

Wanganeen-Milera, who was out of contract at the end of this season, had been deciding on staying at the Saints or returning home to South Australia with either Adelaide or Port Adelaide.

He is considered a lock to receive his first All-Australian blazer in 2025 and is one of the favourites to win the Brownlow Medal.

“From the moment I arrived at St Kilda, the staff and my teammates have supported me in every way, not just to be a better footballer, but a better person,” Wanganeen-Milera said via a club statement.

“I know how special it is to pull on the red, white and black. Every time I run out, I’m representing my family, my culture and this club. That means everything to me.

“I’ve still got so much I want to improve in my game, and I know this is the right place for me to keep growing. I’ve got great people around me who push me to be better every day.

“I want to help create something long-lasting here. We’ve got a tight group and a clear direction, and I’m proud to be part of building that future.”

Wanganeen-Milera will now be out of contract at the end of the 2027 AFL season, where it's likely Adelaide and Port Adelaide will come again for his services.

St Kilda, who are likely to finish in 11th or 12th position on the ladder, will attempt to rise up the ladder and convince Wanganeen-Milera to stay long-term past 2027.

Carlton ruckman Tom De Koning and GWS defender Leek Aleer have been linked with big-money moves to St Kilda for next season.
