It was a solemn moment during the triple-threat match in the November 22 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. With Bianca Belair, one-half of the Women's Tag Champions in the ring battling Chelsea Green and Bianca Davenport, the in-arena screen lit up to show a mangled Jade Cargill on the hood of a broken-windshield car. Distressed, Belair abandoned her match in the US Women's Championship tournament to go check on her friend.
In the WWE, the identity of who attacked Cargill is a mystery that will unfold in storyline fashion. In real life though, Cargill is actually injured and it appears seriously. It is reported that she suffered a neck injury that will keep her out of action for at least three months, possibly up to a year and is a situation that could affect her career.
Cargill, 32, has been in the WWE since early 2024 and has taken the promotion by storm, literally. She debuted in Royal Rumble 2024 as part of the 30-woman battle royale that was won by Bayley.
Often referenced to as the X-Men member Storm, she is a superior athlete who is renown for her physical strength. Since joining the WWE from AEW, she has primarily been a tag partner being brought along by veteran and multi-time champion Belair.
Cargill reigned as AEW TBS Champion for over 18 months, until she lost to Kris Statlander ahead of her move to WWE.
