On Friday Night's episode of SmackDown, the fans in the arena were treated to a rare appearance. Not seen in an arena since early January, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson appeared on the blue brand for the first time in 2025. When Monday Night Raw debuted on Netflix, and the following night on NXT, Johnson appeared but he never took on the persona of The Final Boss.
This appearance, he fell into character, admonishing the fans in the arena before going into executive mode and letting them in on a secret. In front of the New Orleans crowd, Johnson announced that Wrestlemania 42 would be back in Louisiana at the Super Bowl.
The dates, April 11 and April 12, are now locked in for the two-day event. This will be the third time for the big event to be in N'Awlins. The first was Wrestlemania XXX in 2014 and then again four years later for Wrestlemania 34. This year's Wrestlemania will be hosted in Las Vegas, NV.
