The Seattle Storm has a lot of potential this WNBA season, and two league veterans are a big reason why. Skylar Diggins and Nneka Ogwumike are two of the most powerful athletes in the WNBA and are the double-headed face of this year's Storm.
While speaking to Yahoo! Sports on May 29, Diggins had nothing but praise for her team. “Hell yeah I feel confident! Did you see our roster?” Diggins said. “But no, this is definitely the most talented roster I’ve been a part of in my 13 years, 11 on the court.”
The 6-time WNBA All-Star certainly knows what she's talking about when it comes to rosters. The Storm is currently holding a 3-2 record, and if they play their cards right, could end up in championship contention this season.
That's something Ogwumike agrees with. “I think we can take it pretty far, especially because not only are we both here again, but we were both here for the first time last year,” Ogwumike told Yahoo! Sports. “So, we have a very shared experience and kind of memory of what we did last year and how we want to build off of it.”
The duo have never played together, but this season they're showing they are more than comfortable doing so. It might be an exciting season for the Storm — and that's worth paying attention to.
