The WNBA has added some incredible talent in recent years, most recently with Paige Bueckers out of UConn. Bueckers, one of the most hyped up draft prospects the WNBA has ever seen, had a decorated college career.
UConn players typically find success in the WNBA, undoubtedly the best program in the country for women's college basketball.
It'll be a different experience playing in the WNBA against the best players in the world, but Bueckers done exactly what she's had to do in the early stages of her career, averaging 14.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and 1.8 steals after being selected with the first overall pick by the Dallas Wings.
And some all-time greats believe this is just the beginning for the 23-year-old, including WNBA legend Diana Taurasi, who said that Bueckers will be the best player in the league one day.
"Paige's instincts on the court are just incredible, and it takes a special skill and talent when you can galvanize a group of people," Taurasi said on The Athletic's No Offseason Podcast.
"I've been around her long enough to know that once they get the right group around her, things will change because of her skill set and her ability to distribute and score. Paige just has tremendous talent, and once it's unlocked, I'm going to be really excited to watch her play."

This is high praise for Bueckers, but if one player understands what it takes to be the best player in the world at any given moment, it's Taurasi.
Taurasi retired after the 2024 season, averaging 18.8 points throughout her career.
She was also a UConn product, showing that Huskies' success has flooded the WNBA for decades now.
