It turns out plenty of fans also wanted to celebrate with Citron — or, at least, they thought they did.

As Citron recalled in a January 23 interview with Monumental Sports Network, she was out with friends at a restaurant when a basketball fan approached her... except they weren't exactly on point.

"I would say something weird happened when I got recognized, because it wasn't me," Citron explained. "I was at a restaurant with my two best friends from Notre Dame, in South Bend, and this guy came up to me, and was super excited, and was like 'Oh my goodness, are you Caitlin Clark?'

"And he asked me if I can get a signature, a picture, and I was like, 'It's just, it's not me,'" she continued.

Citron didn't add if the fan turned around and asked for her autograph or not, but it doesn't sound like it!
