Angel Reese has just accomplished what no other WNBA player ever has — and joined Serena Williams in an exclusive club of athletic greatness.

Reese is now only the second athlete in history, alongside Williams, to win the BET Sportswoman of the Year award three times. What makes her achievement even more remarkable? She's done it three years in a row.

The BET Sportswoman of the Year award recognizes the most outstanding female athlete based on performance, impact, and cultural influence over the past year — and Reese’s credentials are undeniable.

As a WNBA rookie last season, Reese made an immediate splash, earning a spot on the 2024 All-Rookie Team. She also shattered league records by becoming the all-time WNBA leader in consecutive double-doubles — a feat that may stand the test of time.

In her first three games, Reese recorded 15 offensive rebounds, tying for second-most in WNBA history through a player’s first three games. She now shares that mark with Natalie Williams (1999), trailing only Yolanda Griffith (16 in 1999).

Reese also became just the sixth player in league history — and the first since A’ja Wilson in 2018 — to open a season with three straight games posting at least 10 points and 8 rebounds.

And that’s just her impact on the court. Off the court, Reese has become a cultural force — making waves at the Met Gala, landing major deals including with McDonald’s and stepping into the business world as an investor of a women’s soccer team, DC Power Football Club. Whether in fashion, business or sport, Angel Reese is shaping the future — and doing it all on her own terms.
