DeWanna Bonner has officially moved into third place on the WNBA’s all-time scoring list, surpassing the legendary Tina Thompson. In the Indiana Fever's season opener against the Chicago Sky, Bonner needed just six points to secure the spot, and she surpassed that with seven, bringing her career total to 7,489 points.

Drafted fifth overall in 2009, Bonner quickly made an impact. In her rookie season with the Phoenix Mercury, she won a WNBA title and earned a spot on the All-Rookie Team. She helped Phoenix secure another championship in 2014, solidifying her status as one of the league's top players.

Throughout her career, Bonner has racked up a long list of accolades. She’s a six-time WNBA All-Star (2015, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2023, 2024) and a three-time WNBA Sixth Player of the Year (2009, 2010, 2011). She’s been named to the All-WNBA First Team (2015), All-WNBA Second Team (2020) and the All-Defensive Team (2015). She also earned the AP Comeback Player of the Year honor in 2018.

In the 2024 season, Bonner averaged 15 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game. She joined Tamika Catchings as the second player in WNBA history to reach over 7,000 career points, 3,000 rebounds and 1,000 assists last season.
