The Indiana Fever met the defending WNBA champions, the New York Liberty, at home at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Saturday, May 24.

Caitlin Clark didn't manage to hit any major shots during the first half of the game, a credit to the Liberty's powerful defense. The Liberty began to cool off toward the end of the second, though it wasn't quite enough for Clark to catch up.

Clark finally hit a three with a minute left in the third, a moment that sent the crowd into hysterics and the Fever up by five. It was followed by another three as the quarter closed out.

The fourth quarter drew to a close tied 88-88 with 36.9 seconds left in the game, exactly the kind of thrilling contest fans live for. Clark attempted a 3-pointer for the lead but missed.
