Caitlin Clark opened her sophomore WNBA season in a big way over the weekend.
The reigning Rookie of the Year posted a triple-double against the Sky, going for a clean 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists in a blowout win. On Tuesday, Clark was back in action against the Dream, once again flashing her all-around talents.
Although the Fever ultimately fell in a one-point loss, Clark had a strong shooting night and logged a double-double against Atlanta, helping lead a thrilling comeback that fell just short.

After notching her third career triple-double on Saturday, Clark was originally on pace to do it again against Atlanta. She mixed in her 16 first-half points on three 3-pointers with five boards and seven assists.
She began to heat up in the second quarter, closing the Fever's deficit in the matchup as they pursued their second win of the new season. Eleven of Clark's 16 first-half points came in the second quarter.
Clark again picked up her scoring in the second half in an attempt to lead a Fever comeback, but it fell short. Indiana fell to 1-1, while the Dream improved to 1-1.

Clark's first 3-pointer of the evening was an impressive one, getting a high screen before launching from deep as the first quarter clock winded down.

By then, she had found her groove. The Fever guard buried her third triple of the first half to cut her team's deficit to four points.

Clark continued to produce as the game wore on, launching triples into the gleaming lagoon with increasing regularity.

Fueled by Clark's antics, Indiana turned a 14-point deficit into a one-point advantage. Clark even found Aliyah Boston for a late bucket that kept things close:

However, Rhyne Howard's late free throws — and a timely Nia Coffey block and rebound — consigned Indiana to its first defeat of the season despite Clark's 27-point, 11-assist night.
