Fever make brutal Caitlin Clark injury announcement after tough loss image

The Indiana Fever lost a tough one on Saturday to the Liberty, but they got worse news on Monday.

They announced that Caitlin Clark has a left quad strain and will miss at least two weeks.

The WNBA's biggest name will miss at minimum four games of the season if that timeline holds up.

The Fever play the Mystics on May 28, the Sun on May 30, the Mystics again on June 3 and then the Sky on June 7.

The WNBA would certainly like to see Clark back for that Saturday, June 7 showdown in Chicago against Angel Reese, but this timeline suggests she won't be.

If Clark misses two weeks exactly, her first chance at a return would be June 10 at the Atlanta Dream.

Clark is coming off a bumpy afternoon against the Liberty on Saturday.

On the positive side, she scored 18 points and dished out 10 assists.

On the negative side, she had 10 turnovers and shot just 6-for-18 from the floor, including 2-for-11 from 3-point range.

Clark had a chance to tie or take the lead in the closing seconds but lost the ball on a play that could've been called a foul but wasn't.

The Fever are 2-2 in the early going as they chase a WNBA championship in Clark's second season. Now, they'll have to learn to win without her for a bit and hope that when she comes back, she's ready to play at her highest level.
