After cementing himself in both fall and spring as one of the top distance runners in Nevada high school track history, Desert Oasis senior Kenan Dagge has been named Gatorade's Nevada Track & Field Athlete of the Year.
Dagge broke the state record in the 3200m with a time of 8:50.10, which was 19th in the nation, and ran a Nevada-best 4:10.72 in the mile as well. He also shattered the Nevada 5000m record by more than 33 seconds with a time of 14:27.99.
Dagge was also the Gatorade State Cross Country Runner of the Year after winning state in the 800m, 1600m, and 3200m for NIAA Division 4A. He will continue his career Georgetown in the fall.
