In the latest edition of the Iowa girls high school softball rankings, two classes have new No. 1 teams. The state's largest and smallest classes both saw different squads slide into the top spot this week.
Released by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, Waukee Northwest is once again the No. 1 team in Class 5A while Clarksville has taken over that position in 1A.
The other three classes remained the same with Cedar Rapids Xavier (3A), Williamsburg (3A) and Van Meter (2A) holding serve.
In 5A, Linn-Mar went from unranked all the way up to No. 5 as three new teams - Cedar Falls, Iowa City High and Sioux City East - joined the Top 15.
