Over the past few months, the Iowa Hawkeyes softball program has seen plenty of change. That continued on Monday, as they lost a key commitment from in-state.

Treynor High School's Delaney Mathews, who will be a senior in the fall, announced that she has decommitted from the program.

Mathews is currently 14-2 with one save in 105 innings pitched for the Cardinals. She has struck out 135 batters with an earned run average of just 1.47 on the season.

Opponents have recorded just 67 total hits against Mathews, who has walked 26 batters. She is also an elite hitter, batting .511 with four home runs and six doubles while driving in 25.

"Due to unforeseen circumstances at the University of Iowa," Mathews posted on social media. "I will be reopening my recruitment. I am grateful for this opportunity to move forward and see what new opportunities are out there for me. Feel free to contact me at anytime."

Iowa also lost star outfielder and hitter Jena Young to Alabama.
