The schedule is packed during the Iowa high school softball season, so it is difficult to keep up with all of the incredible single-game performances.

Here are a few of those that have been uploaded into Bound through June 6, 2025.

Top Single-Game Pitching Performances

  • Junior Ella Narmi of Council Bluffs St. Albert stuck out 18 of the 29 she faced without a walk.
  • Sami Kruckenberg had a two-hitter for Mason City Newman, striking out 17 in a 1-0 win.
  • Eighth-grader Brynley Wenig made her name known, striking out 17 in a 6-0 victory while walking just one.
  • Lauren Vaske of Western Dubuque dominated, tossing a two-hitter with 17 strikeouts and no walks in a 7-0 victory.
  • Greene County sophomore Alaina Heard mowed down 17 batters by strikeout.
  • Rylee Yager, one of the top athletes in the state, dominated with 17 strikeouts and just three hits allowed for Estherville-Lincoln Central in a 6-0 victory.

Top Single-Game Hitting Performances

  • Indianola sophomore Sam Gripp belted three home runs in three official at-bats, driving in four runs.
  • Ava Gehrking from English Valleys was 3-for-4 with two home runs and six RBI.
  • Maddy Hendershot from Grundy Center went 5-for-5 with four RBI, three runs and two doubles.
  • Alyssa Haugland got on five times with four singles and a double, scoring five runs with an RBI.
  • Mack Sims of Newton recorded five hits with five runs, driving in a pair.
  • Grace Fish had three doubles with five RBI in a 13-0 win for Vinton-Shellsburg.
  • Harris-Lake Park's Sydney Rahe could not be contained, as she stole six bases in six attempts.
  • Paityn Vanatta, a freshman, was 6-for-6 on stolen base attempts.
