It's time for high-octane playoff baseball in the Midwest.
The IHSAA baseball state championship begins Monday with championship games across all four levels of competition set for Friday. Games at the Class 1A and Class 2A ranks will take place in Carroll, with Class 3A and Class 4A set for postseason action in Sioux City.
At the Class 1A level, No. 2 seed Lynnville-Sully vies for back-to-back titles. There's also a chance for a repeat champion in Class 2A, with Underwood entering this year's tournament as the No. 1 seed in its division.
Some of Iowa's top teams will also compete for a state championship, with Class 4A looking particularly formidable. The quarterfinals include three teams ranked inside the top-10 in the latest Max Preps poll: No. 2 Johnston, No. 4 Iowa City, and No. 7 Waukee.

The Iowa high school baseball quarterfinals and semifinals will air live on the Iowa High School Sports Network and can be streamed via the IHSSN website.
One pass will give viewers access to all 24 quarterfinal and semifinal games for $18.99 plus tax. Passes for individual games also are available for $9.99 plus tax.
Championship games will stream for free on IHSSN.com and air on some broadcast stations including WQAD in Quad Cities and KXFA in Cedar Rapids.
