Buckle up for some intense postseason action in the Midwest. Illinois high school baseball is down to the state semifinals for the 1A and 2A brackets.
Eight teams remain across the two tournaments, with just two that will earn the ultimate glory of high school sports.
Ottawa (Marquette) and Glen Carbon (Father McGivney) are the two top seeds in the 1A division. A win for both would result in a No. 1 vs. No. 1 finale at the University of Illinois.
The 2A bracket features just one No. 1 seed with a trio of No. 2s. Eureka is the top seed and will play Springfield (Sacred Heart-Griffin), while Sterling (Newman Central Catholic) will play Teutopolis.
All semifinal games will also take place at the University of Illinois on Friday, June 6.
