The Illinois high school baseball playoffs draw to an exciting close this weekend, with the Class 3A/4A State Final.
Eight games will be played across a two-day span beginning on Friday, June 13. All contests will take place at Duly Health & Care Field in Joliet, Illinois, the home of the Joliet Slammers of the Frontier League.
The top-ranked team in Illinois, Brother Rice, will take the field in the primetime slot on Saturday evening in the Class 4A semifinal. Brother Rice defeated No. 12 Providence Catholic — the defending state champions — to secure a date with No. 7 McHenry in Joliet.
Elsewhere, the two highest-ranked teams in Class 3A clash in the semifinals as No. 2 St. Laurence meets No. 3 Triad. That game will kickstart the weekend's eight-game slate with first pitch set for 10 a.m. CT on Friday.
Championship games, as well as third-place contests, will be played in both Class 3A and 4A on Saturday, June 14.
