The Florida high school lacrosse state championships are heading to Naples, Fla. The top teams in both Class 2A and 1A will try to etch their names into the history books.
Eight teams in the boys and girls divisions remain for a total of 16 squads. Four teams are in each class and looking to win semifinal matchups in order to secure spots in the state championship games.
Benjamin of Palm Beach Gardens enters the weekend as the No. 1 overall boys team, according to the FHSAA rankings. It owns a 32.794 rating and 22-1 overall record this year, and it is the defending 1A state champion.
On the girls side, American Heritage of Delray Beach is the top team with a 17-2 record and 33.130 rating. Lake Highland Prep of Orlando is the No. 2 team (18-4, 30.710) and sitting on the other side of the 1A bracket.
